National Achievement Testing; NAT-2016

NEAS, in collaboration with provincial and area education assessment centres and education directorates, is going to conduct 6th National Achievement Testing NAT-2016 across Pakistan in the subjects of Mathematics, General Science, Urdu Reading, Urdu Writing, English Reading and English Writing.  The target population is grade 4 and grade 8 students of the country.

A total of 30,000 students from 1500 schools will participate in this mega activity that is to be conducted from November 2016 to April 2017. The NAT– 2016 is a step ahead of previous studies as for the first time, in addition to the public schools, private schools, and the schools being run under National Commission for Human Resource Development (NCHD), Basic Education Community Schools (BECS) and Education Foundations are included in the sample. Moreover, formulation of policy questions and conducting the assessment separately for winter and summer zone schools are also some of the unique features of this assessment.

That this study will provide useful data that will provide an important input for informed decision making on all levels.
